Family policies

What families ask before the first class.

In the pool, and watching

An instructor is in the water or on the step beside every swimmer, and the number of swimmers each instructor has in each level is on our safety page. A parent or guardian stays on site during every class and watches through the lobby window or from the bench at the edge of the deck. Lessons are no substitute for adult supervision, here or at any pool.

What to wear and bring

Swim shirts are welcome in every class. Hair goes under the level's cap, goggles are for swimmers who like them, and a big towel waits on the bench. For the walk out in winter, bring a hat and a warm coat; the page on what to bring has the rest.

When to keep your child home

Please keep a swimmer home with a fever, a stomach bug or anything that spreads, and tell us so we can offer a make-up class. We rinse the deck and the benches every evening.

Closures for weather and holidays

We close for holidays and when the roads are too icy to drive. We text families by early afternoon, and a class missed for a closure is made up in the same session.

Leaving the program

We ask for two weeks' notice before a swimmer leaves, by text or at the front desk. A session that has begun runs to its end for that swimmer unless we agree something else with you.

Late pickup

Classes end on time, and an instructor waits with a swimmer in the lobby until a parent or guardian comes. If you are running behind in the snow, call the front desk and we will wait.

Screens and phones

Please keep phones away from the water's edge. The lobby window is the place to watch a class from, and it's warm there.

Photos of your child

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.

A question we missed?

Ask at the front desk or send us a message.
